Meet Umoja Africa
A local NGO transforming lives in the mountains of Uganda
Umoja Africa is a non-profit organization based in Fort Portal. They work in vulnerable rural communities, improving access to clean water, education, and healthcare. Everything is done in direct collaboration with local leaders, understanding and respecting the reality of each village.

What do they do?
They install water systems in villages without access, support rural schools with supplies and improvements, develop basic infrastructure such as classrooms or water tanks, and coordinate volunteer programs with direct impact and no intermediaries.
“Umoja” means unity in Swahili. And that’s the foundation of everything they do.

Why do I collaborate with them?
I was the first person to launch a project alongside this NGO, when we brought clothes to children in remote villages in the Rwenzori Mountains.
That moment changed the way I see the world. Since then, we’ve maintained a close relationship based on real action, mutual respect, and trust.

A Project That Changed Lives
In 2024, thanks to the support of Atenas Gymin Vélez-Málaga, we raised nearly 2.500€ for a vital project: bringing clean water to villages in the Rwenzori Mountains..
With that money, we built two storage tanks and, through a pipe system, managed to bring drinking water from a small spring directly to the villages.
Until then, families had to walk several kilometers through a ravine just to fill a single jerrycan. Today, the water reaches their homes.
And that… we did together.
This is just the beginning. Now, you too can be part of the change.

Moments That Leave a Mark
It’s not just about helping, but about connecting, sharing, and living with purpose. These images capture the essence of an experience that transforms both the giver and the receiver.

Play is universal. A child’s smile is worth more than a thousand words.

One look is enough to spark a lifelong friendship.

Working together for a better future. Action born from the heart.
Why volunteer?
Volunteering isn’t just about helping others, it’s about discovering a new version of yourself.
Step out of your comfort zone, connect with amazing people, and feel part of something bigger.

Sometimes it’s not about how much you can give, but how much you’re willing to share.
Volunteering doesn’t just change the lives of those who receive help, it transforms those brave enough to live it from within.
If you’ve made it this far, it’s because something inside you wants to make a difference.
